1. Working condition information




Construction method: The designed mining scale is 5 million t/a, with geological reserves of 199 million tons. It adopts underground mining and vertical shaft development. The mining method is staged open-pit mining followed by backfilling. The annual output of iron ore concentrate is 1.74 million tons.
2. User pain points
The terminal construction adopts a wet dust removal method (clean water enters the drill pipe → DTH hammer → drill bit through compressed air), and the dust is suppressed by injecting a large amount of water. The excessive amount of water injected during the drilling process results in a lack of oil lubrication inside the DTH hammer, and the parts are severely corroded. The life of conventional DTH hammer is extremely short. The life of competing DTH hammer is 1,000 meters , and the cost of use is too high. Users need to improve the current situation and increase the service life of the DTH hammer.
3. Analysis of failed competitor products
After disassembling and analyzing the failed DTH hammer of a competitor, it was found that all the parts of the DTH hammer were rusted. After testing the dimensions of the piston, cylinder and outer sleeve, it was found that the gap between the piston and the outer sleeve exceeded 0.25, and the gap between the piston and the cylinder exceeded 0.25.
After tracking the site, it was found that a large amount of water was injected into the compressed air during drilling at the construction site, resulting in insufficient lubrication of the DTH hammer. The large amount of water caused the DTH hammer parts to rust, causing the DTH hammer parts to wear too quickly. Ultimately, the clearance between the parts was too large, causing failure.

To address customer needs and address the end-use operating conditions and construction methods, we recommend the GM60 corrosion-resistant DTH hammer, paired with the GM60-165 flat drill bit. The corrosion-resistant DTH hammer primarily utilizes a special corrosion-resistant treatment (nitriding) on the surfaces of components such as the piston, cylinder, valve seat, guide sleeve, and outer sleeve. This treatment, after salt spray testing, demonstrates over five times the rust resistance of the components.

DTH hammer drilling speed. We tracked the entire testing process from start to finish, comparing the per-hole drilling time of our company and competitors. The average per-hole drilling time for competitors' DTH hammers was 240 minutes, while ours averaged 216 minutes, representing a 10% improvement in drilling speed.
