With the increasing demand for road infrastructure maintenance in China, urban road repair, highway maintenance, and cold recycling of pavements have placed higher demands on the efficiency, precision, and economy of milling operations. When dealing with high-hardness asphalt mixtures and complex working conditions, challenges such as rapid wear and frequent replacements are often encountered.
The R&D team of Luoyang Goden Egret Engineering Tools developed wear-resistant alloy cutter heads to address the pain points and difficulties encountered in road construction. By adjusting the alloy ratio and using advanced vacuum sintering technology, the hardness and toughness of the alloy are balanced, effectively improving the wear resistance of the alloy, extending the service life of the cutting teeth, and reducing downtime for replacement. The deeply hardened steel tooth body gives it strong impact and bending resistance, effectively preventing breakage and deformation under harsh working conditions and avoiding wear of the tooth base.
Application Cases
In July 2026, product testing was conducted on the expansion and reconstruction project of the Suining-Chongqing Expressway in Sichuan. Compared to products with the same configuration, our G7-2019 had an 18% longer service life than brand Z. Our G8-2220 had approximately a 24% longer service life than brand Z.
The road surface consists of an asphalt overlay and a base layer of asphalt. The asphalt has high hardness, requiring a milling depth of 8-10cm. The aggregate is dense and large-particle, containing pebbles, which causes significant wear on the cutting tool. An XCMG XM2005K milling machine was used.
Comparison of remains:
XTC milling machine: 974 meters, approximately 175 cubic meters.
Z brand milling machine: 825 meters, approximately 148 cubic meters.
